If you have noticed a drop-off in the number of citations found since your last report, it may be because we found that some citations in your report that are not live any more - i.e. we could not access the page because either the whole site or that specific page no longer exist.
To ensure the freshness and accuracy of our Citation Tracker reports, we carry out a review and cleanup of citations every 30 days. We try to access each of the citations in your report to ensure they are still live, and we remove any sites that return a 404 or 410 error (which indicates that this page is no longer accessible on the web)
When we identify and remove these 'dead' citations we will show a notification at the top of your Citation Tracker report alerting you to how many citations were removed. This notification will remain in place until the next time your report is run.
