What is the Local Listings Health Scanner?

The Local Listings Health Scanner is a completely free way to check the accuracy of your business listings on 15 of the most powerful citation sites. 

To run a search using the Local Listings Health Scanner, simply search for the business name using the text box on the tool. The Local Listings Health Scanner primarily searches using the business details used in Google Business Profile (GBP). 

Should you be unable to find the business’s GBP listing in a search, click ‘I can’t find my business, let me enter my details’ (highlighted below in red to the bottom of the graphic) to manually input the business’s details.

If you don't have a physical location, please input the zip code (postcode) and address of where the business operates.

Please note: The Local Listings Health Scanner uses the address details to help match the business to its listings, so this is necessary for accurate results.

The tool will then run a quick scan on 15 of the most popular citation sites to check whether the business is listed on each site. It simultaneously checks the consistency of the business’s name, address, and phone number (NAP) using our powerful Citation Tracker tool. You will be shown the business’s Listing Health Score, based on the number of correct listings found out of a total possible 15.

Once you have run a scan for a business, you can easily see whether it has a listing on the top sites, and spot confusing NAP inconsistencies and errors in the Listing Accuracy Breakdown table. 

From here, you can easily access your listings in Citation Builder, where BrightLocal can help you build new citations, clean up errors in existing listings, and run a full scan for available citations beyond the 15 sites used in the Local Listings Health Scanner. 

If you’re not a current BrightLocal customer, you can run three, free daily scans using the Local Listings Health Scanner. BrightLocal customers and those taking advantage of our trial option will have access to 10 scans per day. Your scan limit will reset every day at 1200 GMT / 1900 EST.
