How do I find my BrightLocal API key?

To access the BrightLocal API, you must be on an active Track, Manage, or Grow plan.

Find your API settings

To access your API settings, go to your API page.

This is where you'll create and manage your API key.

You can also access your API setting page by hovering from your account menu on the top-right of any BrightLocal page.

Create your API key

If you haven't generated an API key yet, you'll see the option to create one on your API page.

1. Go to your API page
2. Click the Create API Key button
3. Your API key will be generated and displayed on screen

Copy your API key

Once your API key has been generated, you'll want to copy it so you can use it in your application or integration.

1. On your API page, locate your API key
2. Click the Copy button next to your key
3. Paste it wherever you need it

Tip: Keep your API key safe. Treat it like a password and avoid sharing it publicly.

Generate a new API key

Need to reset your API key? Maybe you've shared it accidentally, or you'd just like a fresh one.

1. Go to your API page
2. Click the Generate New API Key button
3. A new key will be created and displayed

Please note: Generating a new API key will immediately invalidate your old one. Any integrations using the previous key will stop working until you update them.
