Introducing Local AI Visibility: see how your business shows up in AI search
We’ve launched Local AI Visibility, a new area in the platform that shows how your business appears across AI search: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Google AI Mode. It’s available now and included for all Track, Manage, and Grow customers.
What is Local AI Visibility? More people are asking AI tools to recommend a local business instead of scrolling through search results. Local AI Visibility is the first tool built specifically for local businesses that shows whether AI mentions your business, how often, and how you compare to the competitors winning those mentions.
What’s new?
- See your visibility at a glance. Every location gets its own deep-dive page with a Visibility Score, Mention Rate, Share of Voice, and average position, filterable by platform and prompt type.
- Track the prompts that matter. See how up to 20 prompts perform across all three AI platforms, and add or remove your own prompts anytime.
- Benchmark against competitors. View the same visibility metrics for the competitors showing up on your tracked prompts, so you know exactly who you’re up against.
- Find out what’s driving AI answers. AI Sources shows the domains AI cites when it talks about your business, with mention counts and the platforms citing them.
Why it matters: For a growing number of customers, an AI answer is the first place someone finds a local business, or misses one. Until now, there was no reliable way to see how you show up there, or how you stack up against the competitors winning those mentions. Local AI Visibility brings it all into one clear view, inside the platform you already use, with no separate tool to learn.
What’s next: We’re just getting started. Since launch, we’ve already enriched the Competitors and Prompts tables and added run-to-run score comparisons so you can see what’s changed. Insights that tell you what to do next are coming soon, and we’re expanding coverage to more AI platforms.
Sign in and add locations from anywhere on the new platform
Customers in any location can now sign up and log in to the new platform directly, without being redirected to the legacy platform. If you add a business in a location we don’t fully support yet, you’ll see clear guidance on how to continue, and you can join a waiting list to register your interest so we know where demand is building.
A quick reminder on the new platform
We launched the new BrightLocal platform in July, and we’re rebuilding the product piece by piece throughout the rest of the year. For now, you can use the new and legacy platforms side by side with the same login. Things may look and feel a little different as you move between them, and that’s expected. Work is ongoing, with more improvements landing in the coming weeks. Note: Local AI Visibility is only available in the New Platform.
BUG FIXES
Location Manager
Resolved: Apple Maps listings showed as connected elsewhere
Some customers found that a location’s Apple Maps listing appeared to be connected to a different location, even though it was correctly connected to theirs. As a result, the connection did not show on the right location. We’ve fixed the issue, and Apple Maps connections now appear on the correct location.
Agency Lead Generator
Resolved: Lead generation widgets could fail to load
Some customers hit an error when creating a lead generation widget if their account had been set up without a country saved against it. We’ve corrected how accounts capture country details, so the widget builder now loads and works as expected.
