General billing information
Your subscription cost depends on a few things:
- Your plan, Track, Manage, or Grow
- Your active location allowance (e.g. 2-5 locations)
- Any add-ons you’ve chosen
How often you’re charged depends on your billing cycle:
- Monthly plans are billed once a month
- Annual plans are billed once a year
Your billing date is set when you first subscribe. It stays the same, even if you:
- Upgrade or downgrade your plan
- Increase or decrease your location allowance
- Add or remove add-ons
This helps keep your billing predictable and easy to follow.
What is proration?
Proration means you only pay for the time left in your current billing cycle when you make a change.
- If you upgrade, you’ll pay a prorated charge
- If you downgrade, you’ll receive a prorated credit
How billing works on a monthly subscription
With a monthly plan, you’re charged on the same date each month.
Example:
If you subscribed on September 1, you’ll be billed on the 1st of every month.
When you increase your Active Locations Allowance
If you increase your allowance, you’ll pay a prorated amount for the rest of your billing cycle.
Your next payment will reflect the new allowance.
Example:
- Current plan: Track (2–5 Locations) — $59
- New plan: Track (6–10 Locations) — $79
- Billing date: October 1
- Change made: September 15
Calculation:
(New price − Old price) × (Days remaining ÷ Days in billing cycle)
→ ($79 − $59) × (15 ÷ 30) = $10
- You’ll be charged $10 on September 15
- Your next payment on October 1 will be $79
When you reduce your Active Locations Allowance
If you reduce your allowance, you’ll receive a prorated credit for unused time.
Your next payment will reflect the lower allowance. Any credit is automatically applied before your card is charged.
Example:
- Current plan: Track (2–5 Locations) — $59
- New plan: Track (1 Location) — $39
- Billing date: October 1
- Change made: September 15
Calculation:
(New price − Old price) × (Days remaining ÷ Days in billing cycle)
→ ($39 − $59) × (15 ÷ 30) = –$10
- You’ll receive a $10 credit
- Your next payment on October 1 will be $39, minus any remaining credit
When you upgrade your Plan
Upgrading your plan works in the same way as increasing your location allowance.
You’ll pay a prorated amount for the remaining time, and your next payment will reflect your new plan.
Example:
- Current plan: Manage (2–5 Locations) — $69
- New plan: Grow (2–5 Locations) — $79
- Billing date: October 1
- Change made: September 15
Calculation:
($79 − $69) × (15 ÷ 30) = $5
- You’ll be charged $5 on September 15
- Your next payment on October 1 will be $79
When you downgrade your Plan
If you downgrade, you’ll receive a prorated credit for the unused portion of your current plan.
This credit is applied automatically to future payments.
Example:
- Current plan: Grow (21–30 Locations) — $269
- New plan: Track (21–30 Locations) — $149
- Billing date: October 1
- Change made: September 15
Calculation:
($149 − $269) × (15 ÷ 30) = –$60
- You’ll receive a $60 credit
- This credit will be applied to future payments
When you buy an add-on plan
Add-ons follow the same billing cycle as your main subscription and are prorated too.
You’ll pay a prorated amount for the remaining time, and your next payment will include the full add-on cost.
Example:
- Base plan: Track (2–5 Locations)
- Add-on: Bing Rank Tracking — $20
- Billing date: October 1
- Purchase date: September 15
Calculation:
$20 × (15 ÷ 30) = $10
- You’ll be charged $10 on September 15
- Your next payment on October 1 will include the full $20 add-on cost
