A Citation Tracker report might sometimes label certain listings as 'suspected duplicates.' This can happen if, for example, a directory shows two entries with very similar names or URLs.
In some cases, what BrightLocal flags as a duplicate could be the same listing URL as your primary one (so not truly a separate duplicate). If you’re confident a flagged item is not an actual duplicate, you can use the 'dismiss' function in your report to ignore that entry. To dismiss a suspected duplicate, click on the 'suspected duplicate' icon and remove the suspected duplicate URL.
It is always worth double-checking if the URLs in question are truly identical to your main listing URL—if they are, then it’s a false positive duplicate. If they are slightly different (e.g., a variation in the listing), then it might actually be a duplicate listing, and we recommend having this removed, either manually or through the 'duplicate removal' feature available in a Citation Builder campaign.
