Your Location Score updates each time you generate a new AI Insight. It won’t change in between, so any movement reflects what’s different since your last report.
Score changes can go up or down, depending on how your location's data has shifted since the last insight.
When your score increases
You might see your score go up if:
- Your rankings improve in Google Maps or organic search
- You add new citations or fix existing ones
- Your review count or average rating increases
- You update your Google Business Profile (GBP) with missing or more complete information
These changes strengthen your foundations or improve your visibility, which is exactly what the score is designed to reflect.
When your score decreases
A drop in your score can happen if:
- Your rankings fall for tracked keywords
- A competitor improves and moves ahead of you
- New data highlights gaps that weren’t visible before
This doesn’t always mean something has gone wrong. It can simply mean you now have a clearer picture of where to focus next.
Focus on the bigger picture
Small changes, usually one to three points, are completely normal. They don’t always signal a meaningful shift.
What matters most is the trend over time. Keep an eye on how your score moves across multiple insights, and use that to guide your next steps with confidence.
