How to apply for the BrightLocal Affiliate Scheme
All affiliates need to register with Shareasale and submit an application by using this link: https://www.shareasale.com/shareasale.cfm?merchantID=33269
Applications from businesses located in the main countries in which we operate will be automatically approved — these include USA, UK, Canada, and Australia.
Applications from other countries will be subject to manual approval by BrightLocal, which may take a few days to complete.
How the Affiliate Scheme works
1. Sign up to Shareasale and get an affiliate ID.
2. Get approval for the BrightLocal affiliate scheme.
3. Create a tagged affiliate link — for example https://www.brightlocal.com/packages/?SSAID=XXXX&SSCID=YYYY — and you will be allocated the relevant IDs when you sign up for Shareasale.
4. Promote BrightLocal on your site, email, social etc. using a correct affiliate link.
5. Your customers click on this affiliate link and sign up for BrightLocal.
6. These customers are tagged as your referrals in BrightLocal (these are called 'leads' in the Shareasale system).
7. When these customers make payments for any of the services listed above, this is recorded in your Shareasale account.
8. Shareasale then pays you at end of each month. You receive 15% of all sales generated in the previous month. Payments are made by cheque or direct deposit to your account.
