BrightLocal doesn’t offer an account merge or transfer feature, so moving locations or data between accounts must be done manually.
If a client is leaving your BrightLocal account to join another agency’s account (or you are consolidating two accounts), the recommended approach is: on the new account, recreate the location profiles and campaigns from scratch (enter the business details and set up the necessary tools like Rank Tracker, Citation Builder, etc.). Unfortunately, reports and historical data cannot simply be “moved” over – they stay with the original account. You should download or export reports from the old account if needed, then start tracking in the new account.
For citation campaigns, you can share campaign reports or login details with the new owner, since those also can’t be transferred. It’s a good idea to contact our support team in these cases, as they can advise on the best way to hand over information, but there is no direct merge function to combine the two accounts’ data.
